Kinja'd!!!

A product named after a surface-to-air missile launcher that’s coming from Korea specifically to make a huge impact on major markets all over the world. Well, maybe that’s just a coincidence and marketing didn’t notice that oh... the key fob is shaped like a detonator and the big button is what you hit when you lock on to your target. Well that’s an oddly topical comparison during the launch of this very surprising product.

Oh, I get it now! The Stinger MUST take off outside of Korea in order for it not to be bombing!! Freakin’ clever, Kia.

Wait... what?!

Kinja'd!!!

The Kia Quirk, Oppo. It’s a real thing. I’ll have to share some more with you sometime.

* I can’t remember if the Stinger is being sold in China. If it’s not then there is no doubt that this was an inside job for a massive inside joke.

Me with a ‘91 Stinger. One of the rare versions not deployed to Afghanistan to be later used against us.

I was field artillery and was sent to an air defense unit. And when ever they would start talking shit I would say.

“Yeah, but the only people to fire a stinger in combat is the Taliban.”

I really wish the main button performed the duties of both locking and unlocking. More excuses to push the big button!

Come to think of it, why don’t all remotes have a single button that toggles between lock and unlock?

So when you hit it multiple times you don’t have to guess whether it’s locked or unlocked

That’s a bitchin’ key. Are all the Kia Stinger keys like that, or just the ones for the top-tier GT2 model?

Well, you’re not going to mistake the lock button for the unlock button...
